As part of their expedition on what it means to be “Out of Place” and how we can come alongside those who experience being out of place, the 6th graders will be traveling to the Dominican Republic during the first week of February. This will be our school’s third trip visiting the Doulos Discovery School, the only other Christian school we’re aware of that uses Expeditionary Learning to realize their mission.  Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11th, on parent/teacher conference day, there will be a unique craft sale in the Fellowship Hall.  Carlos and Christopher Griffith’s grandmother, who was an outstanding craftsperson, passed away a few weeks ago, and the Griffiths have generously offered to give 50% of the proceeds from her handmade items sold tomorrow to help defray the cost of the trip to the Dominican Republic.  We have attached a flyer that gives more detail about the kinds of items that will be offered tomorrow.  We thank you for any support you can give by purchasing these beautifully crafted items.
